About ChoreSpinner

ChoreSpinner is a small, independently run site. It is not a company, not a startup, and not a free tier that eventually asks for a card. It is a set of household planning tools that run entirely in your browser, built and maintained by one person โ€” me.

Who's behind it

My name is Miguel Salcedo. I build software, and I built the first version of this for my own household, because splitting cleaning by argument was not working and every app I tried wanted an account, a subscription, and everyone living here to install it. A printed sheet on the fridge beat all of them. The generators here are the thing that produces that sheet.

To be plain about what I am not: I am not a professional cleaner, a home organizer, or a child-development specialist. The time estimates and age suggestions on this site come from ordinary household experience and common practice, not from a credential. They are a starting point to adjust, not an authority to defer to.

How the generators actually work

Everything runs on one hand-written task database of 82 household chores. Each task carries a room (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living areas, floors, outdoor, admin), a frequency (daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly), a minute estimate for an average two-to-three-bedroom home, and a depth tier from light-essentials to full deep clean. Many also carry an alternate kid-facing wording, which is what the chore chart generator swaps in when you turn on kid-friendly phrasing.

Every tool on the site is a different way of slicing that one database:

There is no server doing any of this and no model generating text on the fly. It is deterministic code and a data file, which is why the tools work instantly and keep working offline once the page has loaded.

What this site will never do

Why it's free, and how it's paid for

The site carries display advertising through Google AdSense. That is the whole business model, and it is the reason there is no subscription and no account wall. Ads are kept out of the way of the tool itself and off the printed output โ€” the print stylesheet strips them, so a chart you print costs you paper and nothing else. What data advertising involves is set out in the privacy policy.

Corrections and contact

If a time estimate is wrong for your home, a task is missing, or something on the site is simply broken, tell me โ€” the task database is hand-maintained and gets better when people point at the gaps. Write to [email protected] or use the contact page.
